Installation Services
Formtek-Maine is pleased to offer you 3 levels of installation services for integration of your New B&K® Precision roller leveler into your fresh or existing line of equipment, please read further for more detail. Bear in mind that this is just a general overview of the types of service(s) that we can offer you to facilitate your installation, offering you a smoother transition with less downtime.
Factory Supervised Installation Service
Upon arrival of all components that comprise the agreed upon Formtek equipment, a factory service technician will be dispatched on a reasonable and mutually agreed upon schedule, to your factory.
The technician will provide instruction and supervision of the movement, placement, installation and alignment of the equipment provided by Formtek. The technician will accomplish the interconnection of the electrical systems provided by Formtek, to include help with the connection of wiring or interfacing from/to other related equipment not supplied by Formtek. Formtek along with the customer, will determine an appropriate schedule for a factory service technician to be dispatched to perform the factory installation service.
The installation will proceed as follows:
After the equipment has been physically installed with plant utilities connected and all interconnecting wiring completed according to layout and drawings and service diagrams furnished. The technician will inspect the installation, perform initial startup adjustments, participate in and explain setup and operating procedures, advise on common maintenance and troubleshooting techniques, and observe to assure satisfactory operation. In order to assure an efficient and satisfying startup, all related equipment and tooling should be operational and appropriate material should be on hand.
The above services, including travel to/from the facility, is to be scheduled during normal working hours weekdays, Monday through Friday. Any travel/work requested on weekends or holidays will be arranged in advance and require a purchase order and will be invoiced at premium rate.
Factory Supervised Startup Service
After equipment has been physically installed with plant utilities connected and all interconnecting wiring completed according to layout drawings and service diagrams furnished, a Formtek technician will be dispatched on a reasonable schedule, mutually agreed upon.
The technician will inspect the installation, perform initial startup adjustments, participate in and explain setup and operating procedures, advise on common maintenance and trouble-shooting techniques and observe to assure satisfactory operation. In order to assure an efficient and satisfying startup, all related equipment and tooling should be operational and appropriate material should be on hand. Signals and/or interfacing between the Formtek equipment and other related equipment not supplied by Formtek, are the responsibility of the user and should be pre-arranged by the user in consultation with the appropriate builder (s). The above service, including travel to/from the facility, is to be scheduled during normal working hours weekdays, Monday through Friday. - Installation: Unloading equipment, placing in the proper location, leveling equipment and bolting it to the floor is the responsibility of the customer.
- Electrical: Formtek provides utility interconnecting wiring harnesses from the main electrical control to the coil processing system as well as all necessary interconnecting between the equipment that makes up the system, where applicable.
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide and install all main power supplies.
It is the customer's responsibility to provide and install conduit or wire ways as required in accordance with state and local codes.
- Pneumatics: Formtek provides one or more main air inputs to the system dependent upon system configuration and customer requirements.
- Hydraulics: Formtek provides interconnecting flexible lines between the hydraulic power unit and the coil processing system as well as all necessary interconnecting between the equipment that makes up the system.
- Remote Signal Devices: Mounting of and interconnection of any remote signal devices are the responsibility of the customer.
Failure of customer to meet any of the duties outlined above is deemed breech of contract and all final payments are immediately due if customer does not correct within five (5) days. If time to correct requires our field service technician to leave and return at a later date the expenses incurred for the return trip will be your responsibility.
Turnkey Installation Service
Also available from the Formtek Service Group is a full turnkey installation. Below is an outline of the type of service you can expect, however, each installation is different and is customized to your specific needs / requirements.
The Formtek Service team will take on complete responsibility for the installation of your Equipment from the time it arrives
at your facility thru to first piece inspection.
Our teams are comprised of fully trained Mechanical and Electrical Engineers well versed and highly experienced in all aspects of coil handling
equipment from a single feed up to and including a full blown Cut-to-length or Press feed line.
- Wiring of all components from customer approved Formtek drawings
- Complete testing and verification of all components within the system, and help interfacing with your existing equipment
- Placement and alignment of the equipment is accomplished utilizing the latest available Laser Alignment Technology
- Provide in-house training that is geared to your specific system.
- Both classroom and hands-on at the Equipment.
